Curriculum

1A Curriculum for Excellence has been developed to allow children and young people to experience a broad education with the purpose of ensuring that they develop the skills and knowledge for learning, life and work that equip them to thrive in this changing world.

At Wellpark Children’s Centre the values, principles and purposes of A Curriculum for Excellence are considered when planning activities for the children and every child will be supported by staff to become:

• Successful Learners
• Confident Individuals
• Responsible Citizens
• Effective Contributors

The children are able to develop several important skills through play and active learning. This approach is vital in allowing children the opportunity to express themselves, explore and experiment, build independence, solve problems, assess risks and develop new skills.

Our planning takes the children’s previous learning, experiences and interests into consideration and activities provided throughout the playroom aim to extend the children’s knowledge and skills.
